Do things fall apart..???

The first thing i did during that first break was to call them....Hatice answered...crying...

Hatice: *Anne...çabuk gel!!* (Anne come home quick)

Behind her another voice sobbing......

Baddin: *Anne.. ben ödeve anlamiyorum. Yapamiyorum....* (Anne..i dont understand the homework..i cant do it...)

Hatice crying coz baddin wouldnt do his homework.. and baddin crying because he thought that he couldnt do the homework..... When i told her to abandon ship...to tell baddin to stop doing his homework... she started to sound a bit calmer again....

Life was simply complicated for them at that period of time.......even with mıstık around....

By the time i reached home... he was already asleep..she was waiting for us....she said...

*Anne... r u going every week like this? Cant u not go???*

How do u answer to that ???...this is also a commitment that i cannot abandon simply just like that.....

Today he came home from school crying... simply finding an excuse to cry over something... feeding him dinner was also difficult... and did i tell you that we spent 5 pages of homework from 5pm till 8 pm????... with him crying almost 85 % of the time??? And i knowing the real reason behind his tears and grumpinesss at one point still lost all patience for 5 minutes??

My kids fell apart simply because i wasnt there for them for one night last night coz i had a lecture to give.... .. I just simply dont know how kids with working mothers adapt to their mothers' absence... but then i suppose..kids get used to that if they have to, eh??

And yes... my new adventure in this land has just begun... It is a Business English program where reading is what i will teach ....The best part of all, they r all adults... older than i am... and how many are there in a class? ....well..at least for my class (pre intermediate) Just 4!! Cool eh? All of them are directing managers of the finance house...

How did i do?? Did i stumble on my words...?? Was i nervous?? Well.. i think u have to ask the students how i was...but i think i had put a confident front... Just imagine..a foreigner...a Malay instructor wearing a malay traditional dress (baju kurung) to class...with a smile on her face...i have to say...it was an easy going class coz they are gentleman adults...with loads of life experience...they have things to say.. they have opinions and suggestions and what not to share from the reading......and i..as their instructor..while teaching them could interact with them in ways we cant with kids...i truly thoroughly enjoyed the lesson and am sooo glad that my beloved had suggested that i started teaching again.....i may not be an excellent instructor (yet...insyaAllah i will once i brush up my skills (perasan la ni hehehe))...but i think i didnt do so bad...

It is cool really coz u see... for breaks... hot beverages and snacks are provided till the end of the lessons in one hall....totally needed of course esp since the lesson starts from 6pm till 9 pm! so even if i go there empty stomach..i wont need to starve during the breaks....

Of course for the first lesson, my beloved waited for me from the beginning till the end... but the thing is... by the 3rd week of lesson...i will have to drive there myself..n the road to that place is simply confusing!! we even got lost (my beloved driving) on our way back home.. we took almost 45 mins to reach home!!! ..and going to that place by the mini bus is totally out of the question...Help!

And yes.. my darling princess is on her way to recovery..Alhamdulillah...
My son needs extra attention and love and hug ....
My beloved is still my beloved (marriage kills love)hehehehe
and i... am filling up that certain void in my life that has been absence fr 9 years.....
Yes! i can do this! insyaAllah....

Thank You for hopping by. Hope to see you again soon... :0)

Well done dear! I'm sure u'll sail tru in the next few weeks. :-)

It is tough for the lil ones. I remember my first business trip and she was only 4yo. But with kids, as long as you explain and show them that they are our priority, it'd be ok. I usually call my girl 3-4 times a day. When she was at childcare centre, I even called her there and she proudly told everyone that mummy called.

U keep well dear!

see, you can do it...jus tlike riding a bike. i guess you have to set the expectation right with baddin and hatice, on your absent days at home (kelakar la pulak, selalu absent days at work...LOL!). They will get used to the routine, InsyaAllah.

HelloooooO Simah ... I am so happy for you! Your classes will get even better, I am sure. It's great to be doing what you love, isn't it? As for the kids, give them time. lama-lama dah biasa and I am sure they'll look forward to that one day of the week that you will be absent from home! They have had you all to themselves all these years, so of course the initial separation was like a big upset to them.

All the best, kiddo!

Dear Sister,
Of course, you can. I'm very proud of you. I'm here to give my hand for caring the kids whenever necessary, and to help them in their homeworks. They will soon be used to have a working mother. Then, they will ask you why you don't go to work as Zeynep still keeps asking me. Everything will be alright.
Love,
F.
