Ramadhan oh Ramadhan..

The breakfast plate (eaten right after iftar)

The salad..totally my type...definitely not their type hehehe

The soup..the typical mercimek çorbası (lentil cream soup)

The börek

The guveç....
My angel's first iftar meals at Cavdır Kösk where we had our iftar with the rest of the FÜsem staff...
The fasting kids who did some light sport at Çadır Kösk while waiting for iftar...

There he was at home... it was 3.30pm..saying in Turkish...

Baddin: Baba... can i open the chocolate?

Halil: Why? arent u fasting??

Baddin: Maybe somebody who is very hungry will eat it???

Nope...he didnt get his permission.

Yes... He fasted till the end...

Alhamdulillah... yesterday...saturday the 6th..both my kids had fasted..their first this year...

Halil n i.. we r not making a pressure on them... our rules r...

this year...every saturday n sunday the kids will fast..

next year (3rd grade).. hatice will fast on weekends n one or two day during weekdays...while baddin can still stick t the weekends fasting...
and only by the 4th grade we expect both kids to fast the whole one month of Ramadhan..

Will they be able to do it..insyaAllah... i think together they can.. my only oncern is that next year n the year after that... every year till the next 10 years i think... fasting will be in summer... meaning... iftars..or breaking the fast will be getting later n later... perhaps until 9pm... of course the advantage of fasting in summer is that there wont be any we all may be able to escape to sapanca... :0).. Please pray for my kids... pray that they will have the strength to get used to this ibadah of fasting... they r fasting again today n so far so good...:0)

Did i tell you the good news? Well.. remember last year my brother lost a son n i lost a nephew...??
It seems that Allah has decided to ease my brother's pain n gave him another son!! When i called my bro last week..he was so happy saying that this son looks exactly like the late son..only chubbier! I am soo happy for you, bro! Though afif can never be least Arif can at least fill up ur heart with a different glow...
How was Sapanca? It was really nice...
Just imgine this....
big sapanca lake....
It was dark was nite..what do u expect eh?
and there u see a family..mother, father n 2 kids in the middle of the lake peddling the car shaped boat in the middle of the lake...
and out of a sudden....
a wonderful firecracker show celebrating 30th august to celebrate.. (heheh i forgot)..
and there we the middle of the lake...
getting the best view...
how romantic eh?
What about...
a sultan style boat ride at Eyup haliç (istanbul) at 11pm circling the romantic haliç at night with the lights limunating the land creating such a romantic view ??
Ah... heaven bliss indeed, eh?
Dont u want u beloved's arms circling his arms around u as the soft breeze of the night encycle ur whole body?
Well.. of course.. halil n i will have to make do with just hugging the kids for warmth... hehehehe was romantic indeed!!
Enough said...i'll let the pics reveals the pieces of our days..
for i have loads n loads of things to do... the place is a total mess ..
the luggages.. post sapanca n pre school opening ..
not to mention the place needs moping n vacuuming...
do wish me luck!! i cant blog hop yet...but will try to at the earliest possible time...
mother n daughter lepakking at the cavdır kösk area..
funny pose from dad n son...

mehter performance
(the ottoman army band)..
love this one really!!
the typical turkish chair... just the right size..perfect for the kids
but not for us overweight parents! hahaha

our 9th wedding anniversary is just a few days u think that we r still very much in love?

the sultan kayık..
for a stroll at haliç (sea) in the nite..
The place on the kayık where the sultans sit...
Thank You for hopping by. Hope to see you again soon... :0)

Please dear friend, come by to my space, and leave me your thought, as it is something I dearly sought.

when the dark one come,
let not smile to tears it succumb,
let not fear raise his arrogant thumb,
let not love be turn to a limping lump,
in confusion when the dark one come.

the dark one come,
not to bring glum,
but notes sweeter than rum,
something that our children could hum.

Do not fear of your children being unable to fast. Insyallah they'll get the strength to perform saum. In fact I think you should make they fast even during week days as much as they can.

Like you, I too, was a bit daunted of my kids' wellbeing when they first started but alhamdulillah, they have more strength and willpower that we thought! I had a patient whose son started to fast the whole month at age 4! Tabik betul! :p
